About SPROUT
SPROUT is a non-profit working with kindergarten through adult, in-school and out-of-school, Science, Technology, Reading/writing, Engineering, Arts and Math (STREAM) education. Our partners include Tuscaloosa City and County School Systems, local Universities, faith-based and secular organizations, and passionate community members.

Our Mission
SPROUT's mission is to nurture and cultivate equitable and exceptional science, technology, reading/writing, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STREAM) educational programming for all youth and adult learners in Tuscaloosa.

Our Goals

Develop a publicly accessible database of all current K-12 and adult STEM programming efforts in Tuscaloosa

Identify gaps in Tuscaloosa’s STEM programming (i.e. STEM discipline, audience age, ethnicity, SES.)

Recruit diverse STEM programming planners and facilitators with a passion for providing educational opportunities that address the needs of the community

Create new opportunities for high quality programming that increase equity in STEM education by bringing together physical resources, curricula, teachers, potential program providers, and audiences
